A system that can be used to process 700 litre batches of biodiesel plus glycerine, separating the glycerine before water washing and drying the biodiesel. This system has been in use producing independently tested high quality fuel for several years (98% FAME, <0.01% methanol, water content <500mg/kg - all within EN14214 limits).
The tanks, in process order:
- conical settle vessel for separating glycerine from biodiesel
- glycerine drops into 1200l IBC below (we also have a still for sale for reclaiming methanol from the glyc)
- 2 bubble wash tanks - to gently wash the biodiesel and avoid the risk of forming an emulsion
- 1 pump wash tanks - for more vigorous water washing until the fuel is entirely soap-free
- 2 post wash settle IBCs (not pictured)
- 3 drying tanks
The system includes
- all the tanks and plumbing
- 4 pumps elevated on skid mounts, including a Grundfoss 3 phase CR8, 9.5m3/hr; 2 stainless steel impeller, 3 phase ester transfer & washing pumps; mild steel 40l/min, single phase waste water pump
- control panel
- shelf racking
