sustainable biodiesel
There’s been a lot of talk about whether biodiesel is green or not recently. A lot of people have been understandably shocked to realise that not all biodiesel has credible green credentials.
This is why our fuel is the real deal:
- Sustainable. Our fuel is made from 100% waste oil collected locally. We don’t pass off fuel made from imported oils as a green alternative
- Quality. We have been doing this for 5 years and we put a lot of care into our fuel. Just ask the 1000+ people we have taught to make biodiesel on our courses if we know what we are doing.
- Ethical. We are a not-for-profit workers co-op. The money we make goes straight into honest wages for honest work and nobody takes a cut.
Biodiesel basics
Biodiesel is a fuel made from vegetable or animal oils. It is functionally equivalent to petro-diesel for most applications: nearly all Diesel engines can run on biodiesel without modification. We only make biodiesel from waste vegetable oil. When made from this feedstock biodiesel offers particularly large environmental benefits over conventional petro-diesel. In particular this ‘recycled’ biodiesel offers a very significant reduction in net carbon emissions and hence in greenhouse gases. Biodiesel also has the potential to be cheaper to the consumer than petro-diesel and to minimise engine wear.
